Welcome to the Bishopric

Sunday, January 9th, 2011 was a day of excitement and emotions. The ward we moved into almost 2 years ago, Auburn Hills, was split and a new ward created also. We are now apart of the Newlin Meadows Ward in Parker, CO. Two new bishoprics were created and Rich was asked to be apart of ours! It was sad to be split from some our closest friends but it will be exciting to have Rich serve the Lord in this capacity. His parents were able to share this weekend with us which made it even more special! My mom is going through Chemo right now making them unable to be with us but they were there in spirit. Robert, Rich's dad, was able to ordain Rich to the office of High Priest and then he was set apart as the 2nd Counselor in the bishopric. It had snowed the previous night and all day but ours hearts were warm with the spirit we felt throughout our meetings and the rest of the day. We know the Lord will bless us as Rich serves. We are grateful for the friends we have made and the experiences we have gone through since living hear. They have made us better people. Rich is a wonderful husband and father and I love him dearly.

  4. What a great experience! It's overwhelming at first when your husband is called to the bishopric, but I've found that the blessings definitely outweigh the downside of it! I can't believe it's been a year for us!

    Hope all is well :)
