Fraser Hill

Waiting for pizza after a day of tubing.
I couldn't take off my hat because my hair was so crazy.

This is how gloomy the day was and it was as cold as it looks!

Jeff and Jamie Downs family. Obviously the guy in the back didn't realize a picture was being taken. He works at the office too.

Let the dancing begin!

DJ Downs heading up the "get to know you" games.
Rich and I just before we left and the sun was finally poking out.

The top of the hill. Those are people on the right. We easily flew past the very furthest people you can see.

Thank goodness for the tow rope!!

Rich and the kids ready to go. We would all attach to each other and try to go down without losing anyone. We actually kept trying to do our whole group of 50 but always seemed to lose people.

The kiddos! The one that is so bundled that you can't see any skin-Cade.

This place is a blast!! It's called Fraser Hill and it's only an hour and a half away from us by Winter Park. We went with Rich's work for 24 hours of fun! We left the night before and stayed at the Snow Mountain Ranch YMCA. It's a bunch of lodges spread out and they have a separate mess hall and rec center. There was about 50 of us total. After dinner we all went to the rec center and laced up our skates for some crazy rollerskating. Some chose to play basketball or climb the rock wall or table tennis. Everyone seemed to be having a blast except Cade who had been on an antibiotic all week for strep throat and a severe sinus infection. He still wasn't 100% but didn't want to miss out on anything. Poor guy. After the rec center we went back to out lodge and had the privilege of being entertained by DJ Downs. He is one of the owners of the company, former bishop, and has his own dj equipment that he uses to dj church dances. Hence the name the youth have given to him, DJ Downs. It was a lot of fun and a good way to see what people were really like(since this was my first time meeting most of them).
The next day after breakfast(nothing like unlimited coke for breakfast!), we all set out to the tubing hill. It was a blistery cold day with snow and wind the whole time but we all bundled up and managed to stay warm. On the way home we all stopped at a fun pizza place. Everyone looked so exhausted but had a blast! It's always more fun when someone else pays too!! Thanks Best System Practices!!!

Computer Crash, Birthdays, Holidays

Sweet 16!!!
Sorry, kinda blurry. Brigg road his new bike all through the house one Christmas day and for days after(only because there was snow on the ground and we couldn't hold him off).

Birthday #7 for Cade.

Shortly after my last post our computer crashed. At the same time my kids started winter break so you can imagine how upset my three facebooking teens were and the little ones that like to play webkinz and other games. It took almost two weeks before we got it taken care of. I have to admit I did feel a little out of touch myself. So just to update all on what we have done during that time:

  • Celebrated Cade's 7th birthday!

  • Enjoyed our FIRST white Christmas!

  • Had New Year's eve with nearly 40 teens.

  • Celebrated Halli's 16th birthday!!!
